Aptos (APT) surged over 14% on Friday following the launch of a new AI-powered smart wallet, developed in collaboration with LayerZero Labs and backed by several venture capital firms. The wallet, branded Aptos Autowallet, integrates natural language processing and machine learning to allow users to perform blockchain transactions through simple voice or text commands — a first for Layer 1 ecosystems.
The announcement was made during the opening session of the Web3 Future Wallets Summit in Singapore, where Aptos Foundation developers demonstrated the wallet’s key features, including AI-driven portfolio tracking, automated gas optimization, and multilingual support. The AI model powering the wallet is trained on DeFi transaction patterns, allowing users to execute swaps, stake tokens, or check balances using simple prompts like “Send 10 APT to my trading wallet” or “What’s my staking APY?”
Market reaction was swift. APT jumped from $8.10 to a high of $9.25, marking its strongest single-day performance in over three months. The wallet is currently in beta, available only to whitelisted users via the Aptos browser extension and mobile app. Early reviews from testers praised its ease of use and real-time AI support, which offers contextual guidance for new users unfamiliar with gas fees or DeFi protocols.
Developers say the innovation aims to remove friction for mainstream adoption of crypto by making wallets smarter, safer, and more intuitive. In addition to AI features, the wallet includes biometric security and real-time fraud detection powered by a decentralized oracle network. It also integrates with Aptos Names (similar to ENS) for human-readable wallet addresses.
Aptos co-founder Mo Shaikh stated that the Autowallet could be “a major unlock” for onboarding non-technical users into Web3. He emphasized that the goal is to “make blockchain as easy as sending a WhatsApp message,” and hinted that partnerships with e-commerce platforms and exchanges are already in the works.
The integration of AI into wallets has been gaining traction across the crypto landscape. Projects like Worldcoin, Arweave, and Near Protocol have recently announced similar initiatives. However, Aptos appears to be the first to roll out a live product combining AI prompts, automated DeFi actions, and LayerZero interoperability in a single interface.
With APT showing bullish technical momentum and real-world utility increasing, analysts believe the token could target the $10 mark if adoption of the Autowallet expands beyond early users. The move also positions Aptos as a leading player in the race to build next-generation wallets in the AI-blockchain convergence space.
