Moriano confirmed his promotion to the chief executive position at the company through a LinkedIn post. However, he is not a new face at the firm, as he has worked with the brokerage firm for nearly seven years.

Admiral Markets is a brokerage firm whose headquarters are in Estonia. Moriano joined the Spanish offices of the company in April 2016. He has since held the Country Manager position until his recent appointment to the top position at the broker.

Moriano comes with extensive experience in the financial sector and has the academic experience that equips him for his new lead role at the broker. While serving as the Country Manager for Admirals, Moriano also worked as a professor between January 2017 and October 2019.

He has been a professor at Academia de Mercados before moving to ISBIF. Before the two institutions, he also served as a professor at Centro de Estudios Garrigues, where he worked between October 2009 and July 2011.

Before joining Admirals, Moriano worked at FCG Europe, where he served as a Financial Analyst and Corporate Finance. He worked at FCG Europe for several years. He has also served as a Private Equity Manager at Straticator and held several other roles across the financial industry.

The growth of Admirals

The appointment of Moriano as the new chief executive at Admirals comes at a time when Admirals is expanding its operations. In 2021, the broker rebranded from Admiral Markets to Admirals. The firm is also expanding its operations, as in 2021, it secured regulatory approvals in Kenya and South Africa.

The brokerage firm is currently looking towards expanding its operations to Seychelles. It plans to do this through the acquisition of a securities dealer that is registered in the country. Expanding to Seychelles will strengthen the global operations of the broker.

Despite this expansion, the firm has also recently seen several top executives leave the company. Roman Krutyanskiy, who served as the Country Manager for Admirals in Germany, left the company.

The other significant departure was that of Jens Chrzanowski, who served at the company for more than 11 years, Chrzanowski was the Regional Director of Germany, Austria, Swiss, and the Netherlands. In November last year, Veronica Imasheva, the Regional Manager at the brokerage firm, also resigned.
