Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin shared a new blog post where he asked the world to focus on “full-stack openness.” This means keeping software, hardware, and even health systems open and easy to check.

He believes openness is important because technology is becoming a part of everyday life, and hidden systems can create problems like spying, unfair control, and weak security.

Buterin Warns About the Dangers of Closed Systems

Buterin explained that when technology is controlled by only a few companies or governments, it creates many risks. These systems may have secret doors or weak points that people cannot see. He gave the example of COVID-19 vaccines, where some countries had more access than others, showing how unfair closed systems can be. He also said health data, brain-computer tools, and voting machines should always stay open and checkable to protect trust and fairness.

He talked about creating open-source operating systems, secure hardware wallets, and tools that can check chips directly. He also mentioned low-cost health and environmental sensors and software that can be tested to prove it is correct.
