Metro Bank is now collaborating with Ask Silver, an AI company whose technology will allow the bank’s customers to check at any time whether they are at risk of a scam. This is possible as the AI tech provided by Ask Silver can spot fraudulent communications, and instantly detect danger to the bank’s users.

All that the users need is a phone or tablet, and they will be able to take photos or screenshots of emails, websites, letters, or even leaflets that they find suspicious. After providing it to the Metro Bank’s Scam Checker via WhatsApp, they will soon get their answer.

Upon receiving the suspicious materials, Ask Silver will use AI t spot if the communication is legitimate or fraudulent, and even suggest the next steps for the users to take in order to stay safe.

A Game-Changing Collaboration

Commenting on the partnership and the new feature, Metro Bank’s head of fraud, Baz Thompson, said that the collaboration with Ask Silver will be a game-changer in terms of protecting customers from fraud. It will help stop crime, as there are always patterns in criminals’ attempts to defraud their intended victims.

Sometimes, these things may be difficult for humans to spot, but AI will have no such problems. He noted that criminals often play on urgency and speed to trick people into taking action without thinking about it first, which has been a proven way to make their victims part with their hard-earned money.

But, being able to offer a service where customers can confirm an attempt at scam within minutes will be an essential barrier in getting ahead of fraudsters.

Best of all, the service will be completely free for Metro Bank users. They won’t even have to report the scam attempt to authorities, as Ask Silver will do it for them.

The company’s co-founder Alex Somervell stated that Ask Silver is building the most human-focused anti-scam firm, and is partnering with customer-focused financial institutions, such as Metro Bank. Such partnerships are a core necessity for its tool to succeed, and the company is always willing to work with banks, public institutions, and the public itself, all for keeping the loved ones and their money safe.
