Alexander Royle, a well-known figure in financial market regulations, revealed that he has joined Cor Prime, a new crypto-focused project he co-founded. According to Royle, the company is part of the $1 billion investment firm Deus X Capital, and aims to offer prime brokerage services within the digital asset industry.

For the past three years, Royle said he had been associated with Galaxy Digital, where he worked as a Regulatory Advisor in the cryptocurrency field. He further noted that prior to this role, he had been with Montis Digital and Archax, where he applied his extensive knowledge of financial market law.

Cor Prime Aims To Boost Digital Asset Market With Prime Brokerage Services

Royle highlighted his early career, during which he spent over five years working with two key European regulatory bodies, the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).

His vast experience gained from working in both regulatory and private sectors, he stated, would be essential in shaping the services offered by Cor Prime as it enters the fast-growing digital asset market.

On social media, Royle expressed his excitement, noting that he was pleased to announce his new role as Co-founder and Chief Regulatory Officer at Cor Prime. He pointed out that the list of former regulators moving into the crypto space is growing, while at the same time, the US SEC is facing difficulties recruiting cryptocurrency experts for its own operations.

Cor Prime, which was recently launched, is being backed by Deus X Capital, a $1 billion investment firm. Tim Grant, the head of Deus X Capital, has been named as the Chief Executive Officer of the new venture.

He said the official announcement of the firm’s launch came after Deus X completed its initial equity funding round. Grant added that the company has committed up to $100 million of risk capital for the business.

Cor Prime Seeks To Offer Investment Opportunities In Digital Assets

Grant explained that the digital asset market is in great need of risk capital, and he believes there is a significant opportunity to bring new funding into the space.

He stated that institutional investors need a secure and well-structured investment opportunity. According to him, this should be supported by a next-generation risk framework that they understand before they can engage with and help grow new markets.

According to the update, Cor Prime will offer both principal and prime lending to institutional investors within the digital asset sector, pending regulatory approval. The company plans to attract institutional risk capital from a variety of sources, including insurance companies, pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds.

Additionally, it aims to secure investments from hedge funds, family offices, and crypto asset pools from foundations and miners.
