OtherWorld, a Web3 developer based in Singapore, has announced the beta release of an NFT platform inspired by the top-rated South Korean online novel and comic series Solo Leveling. The platform, called “Solo Leveling: Unlimited (SL: U),” will debut on the Avalanche blockchain, per a press release.
SL: U reflects the captivating universe, prose, and storyline of Solo Leveling, enabling users to interact and connect with the story through a unique reward system,” the release revealed.
Players Advance Through The Narrative By Fighting And Gathering Cards
The Chief Executive Officer of OtherWorld, Mike Lee, stated that three things must be improved for Web3 services to attract more users. These are using blockchain wallets to log in, removing transfer fees, and making cryptocurrency payments easier. He added that the company aims to fix these problems.
The platform will be updated every season, introducing community competitions and diverse activities. Individuals performing well each season will be given a limited series of Sung Jin-Woo Shadow Monarch display pictures.
For the digital assets platform, OtherWorld is using a unique Layer-1 system developed on Avalanche, which would have gas-free NFT exchanges. OtherWorld said that the platform will continue to be used to introduce additional webtoon and K-pop IPs to the Web3 realm.
Gamers can guide their avatars through Solo Leveling’s storyline by battling creatures and collecting cards to progress. Those with powerful monster cards will receive rewards such as PFP NFTs featuring the main character.
Since its release in 2016, Solo Leveling has gained more than 14 billion worldwide views as a multimedia franchise encompassing a web novel, mobile gaming app, animated adaptation, and webtoon series.
The gaming studio stated that it owns 26 acclaimed webtoon IPs and can work with well-known agency Cube Entertainment to incorporate K-pop IPs.
Avalanche Wants To Improve Scalability, Security, And Decentralization In Blockchain
Justin Kim, Korea Director at Ava Labs, said it is fantastic to see well-liked series such as Solo Leveling grow and offer a fascinating gamified experience for its users worldwide using blockchain. He further noted that this shows what can happen when popular cultural symbols and advanced technology come together.”
Avalanche was introduced by Ava Labs in 2020. It is a fast Layer 1 blockchain network that seeks to address the blockchain trilemma of scalability, scalability, and security. Avalanche will achieve this goal by using its specifically designed consensus mechanism, called Snowball.
Like its direct rivals, Polkadot, Solana, and Ethereum, the Avalanche network allows decentralized applications (Dapps) and smart contracts to operate on its blockchains. It has grown to become a top player in the world of gaming, web3, and decentralized applications.
