ASIC-regulated GO Markets recently announced a new addition to its Cypriot subsidiary, Go Markets EU: The company appointed Victor Zachariades to act as its subsidiary’s newest non-executive director and a board member.

One of Zachariades’ former positions before coming to the Go Markets EU board was the Head of Pepperstone’s Cyprus unit. He held this position for almost three full years. However, he has around 17 years of experience in FX products and partnership-driven businesses.

During his time at Pepperstone, he led the effort for the broker to be granted a Cyprit license, which finally happened in 2020. He then left the company in 2022 to join a stock broker, Alpaca, known for allowing developers to build their own services, apps, and entire trading platforms.

Given Zachariades’ experience in the foreign exchange sector, he was granted the responsibility of driving the Alpaca ecosystem’s growth and expansion, with the ultimate goal of bringing real-world applications into the fintech sector. The company offers trading software for equities, known as Broker API. This is a tool that allows entrepreneurs to plug into Alpaca’s technology, and easily build and scale their own commission-free brokerages.

Zachariades’ career and experience

Before joining Pepperstone, Zachariades worked as a director at Libertex Group for three years, starting in 2016 and ending in 2019. Prior to that, he spent over two years as a senio rmanage at Vinson Financials. He also spent several years as an executive director at Forex Club, where he managed day-to-day activities associated with the Cyprus operation.

In 2010, he became a senior dealer at FxPro Financial Services, where he remained for slightly over three years, managing FX trading operations, overseeing the staff, training junior traders, hedging the company’s exposure with liquidity providers, and monitoring and analyzing Risk and Trading Exposure.

Even earlier in his career, Zachariades was a risk management analyst at Cyprus’ second-largest lender, the Hellenic Bank. Zachariades has had a lengthy and fulfilled career up to this point, with experience from multiple companies and many different positions within them. As such, he will be a valuable member of Go Markets EU, and the entire GO Markets ecosystem.

His arrival to the company comes only a few months after GO Markets partnered with cross-border payment specialists Currencycloud. The collaboration was established this august, with the goal of enhancing client deposits and withdrawals through seamless automation, and leveraging real-time, API-driven competitive FX rates.
