Halifax has announced a partnership deal with Effective Home to enable solar panel sourcing, installation and aftercare. The bank will be rolling out this offering as part of a new trial scheme.

Halifax Bank commences trial for solar panel sourcing installation and aftercare

Halifax will be working with Effective Home for this initiative. Effective Home is a hub for expert and accredited solar panel installers. The partnership will bring efficiency to the solar sourcing process by making it easy for Effective Home to locate the market for its solar panel suppliers.

Halifax operates a Green Living Hub that people can use to access the virtual consultation services offered by Effective Home. This solution allows viewing a home remotely to assess its suitability for solar panels. The process removes the need for in-person visits, making it more convenient to access these services.

Those interested in solar panels will also receive a free and customized plan. The plan will outline the total installation costs and the energy bill savings that the customers will get by switching to solar energy. If a buyer is interested in going ahead with the installation, they will obtain an in-personal and technical survey in readiness for the installation.

Effective Home will play a major role in ensuring that homes switch to solar panels. The company will undertake the installation process and support customers interested in registering these panels with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. The buyers will also access a free and insurance-backed guarantee.

The solar packages that are being sold through this initiative have a starting price of around £5,650, and they will also come with a 25-year warranty. The total cost of these panels depends on the size of the system needed. The costs will also increase in cases where a battery will be installed.

Halifax mortgage customers to get a cashback on solar panels

The bank has also said that the customers that are eligible for the Halifax mortgage product will have access to a £500 cashback towards the cost of these solar panels. The cashback will be granted under the existing Green Living Reward offer at the bank.

Those who install solar panels using the scheme promoted by Halifax and Effective Home will also obtain access to a free Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessment for their home. This will allow these homes to monitor their consumption.

The home’s director at Halifax, Andrew Asaam, commented on the development saying that solar panels have become increasingly popular and can be seen on more roofs in the UK. He attributed the increased adoption to reduced energy bills and low carbon emissions. The product supported the creation of a more energy-efficient home.

“Our partnership with Effective Home supports people with solar panel installation from start to finish, so even more people can take advantage of the benefits of having a ‘greener’ home and cheaper bills,” Asaam said.
