James J Heckman also known as James Joseph “Jim” Heckman was born on the 19th day of April, 1944. He received the Nobel Memorial Prize along with his co winner Daniel Mc Fadden in the year 2000. The Nobel Memorial Prize was conferred up on him for his contribution in the field of microeconomics and econometrics. [br]

His academic qualifications:

James J Heckman graduated from Colorado College. He earned his Ph.D degree from the Princeton University in the year 1971, after spending a year at Chicago University. He earned his doctorate degree in economics. Dr. James J Heckman was associated with the University of Columbia as an Assistant professor. In the year 2006, James Heckman got appointment as Professor of Society and Science at University College, Dublin.

Dr. James was a faculty member in 1972 at New York University. He also taught at the Columbia University from 1970 for few years. In the year 1973, he was the faculty of economics at Chicago University.

His contribution to economics:

He was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize for his contribution in the field of self selection analysis and selection bias. He has also conducted extensive research work on empirical research pertaining to labor economics. James J Heckman has several publications to his credit. He has authored many books after carrying out extensive research in economics.
