Sustainable Agriculture got its first legal recognition in the United States of America through the Public Law 101-624, Title XVI, Subtitle A, Section 1683 which was introduced in the year 1990. This law defined this farming practice type to be more Eco-friendly and having a sight for the long run satisfaction of the nutrient values in accordance with the nutritional requirements of the human body. It was especially emphasized in the law that the non renewable resources that are used in the farming process needs to be used at a minimal level in Sustainable Agriculture. It emphasizes that the viability conditions of the small farmers in the rural areas needs to be enhanced through Sustainable Agriculture through proper disposal of wage and proper distribution of their produced products.
Information on Sustainable Agriculture would be incomplete if the mention of the Organic Farming is not considered in the same. For more development in this field, research on sustainable agriculture is going on and with every passing day, this farming type is given more emphasis by the American as well as the French government.
