Latest Bosnia-Herzegovina export, import and trade statistics have revealed that Bosnia has been among major exporters to Serbia. During January to March 2009 fiscal aggregate value of goods and services exported to Serbia by Bosnia-Herzegovina was $188.4 million. Bosnia-Herzegovina trade with Serbia has helped its financial standing to a significant extent.
Malaysian companies and Bosnia Herzegovina trade
Bosnia-Herzegovina import and export sector is set to receive a boost from major business establishments in Malaysia. Major reasons behind this new interest being shown are massive regional market of that country and various opportunities that are available to investors in that country. Ensar Eminovic, Bosnia-Herzegovina’s ambassador to Malaysia has also said that his country is still high on safety stakes.
There are certain sectors where companies from Malaysian would be investing in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Electricity is one such area and is crucial to Bosnia-Herzegovina export, import and trade scenario. Electricity sector has capacity to be counted in this regard.
Major export and import items of Bosnia-Herzegovina
Some prominent names in Bosnia-Herzegovina export, import and trade sector are aluminum, wool and steel. It primarily imports goods such as chemicals, information technology products and machines.
Bosnia-Herzegovina export and import in 2008
In fiscal 2008 aggregate value of goods and services exported by Bosnia-Herzegovina was $5.092 billion. It exported goods and services such as metals, wood products and clothing. In that same period combined monetary worth of goods and services imported by it was $11.94 billion. It primarily imported commodities such as machines and equipments, fuels, chemicals and foodstuffs.
Traditional export and import partners of Bosnia-Herzegovina
On an average major export partners of Bosnia-Herzegovina have been fellow European countries. In fiscal 2007 Croatia was major name in this regard by accounting for 21 percent of exports and Slovenia with 16.5 percent. Italy came next with 16.1 percent and Germany followed it with 13.3 percent. Austria and Hungary accounted for 9.6 and 5.7 percent respectively.
Croatia, again, has been major import partner of Bosnia-Herzegovina. In 2007 it accounted for 24.7 percent and was followed by Slovenia and Germany with 13.3 and 13.1 percent each. Italy and Austria contributed 10.4 and 7 percent respectively. They were followed by Turkey and Hungary with 6.5 and 5.4 percent respectively.
