Business and Economy of Alaska
There is an increase in the personal income of Alaska. In the Second-quarter 2004 personal income was $21.5 billion, compared to $23.6 billion in the second quarter 2005. The rate of growth in personal income suggests that an almost 10 percent increase throughout Alaska. There was a 1.5 percent growth over the last quarter reported, first-quarter 2005 to second-quarter 2005, from $23.3 billion to $23.6 billion.

Among the various sectors of the state, the chief industries constitute petroleum, tourism, fishing, mining, forestry, transportation and aerospace.The chief manufacturing goods include fish products, lumber and pulp and the furs.The chief agricultural crops include green house products, barley, oats, hay, potatoes, lettuce and aquaculture.The livestocks of the state in Jan 2004 include 12,500 cattle/calves; Jan 2003: 1,500 hogs/pigs.
