Both services as well as industries sector play an important role in the economy. Services accounted for 51.7% of the total GDP followed by industry at 32.3 percent.

Major agricultural products in the country are fruits, vegetables, tobacco, cereals and cattle. Important industries of the country are machines, copper, aluminum, lead, mining, chemicals and consumer goods.

As to statistics, the value additions made by the services sector as the percentage of the total GDP is calculated at 45.0 as in 2004.

The following table shows the value additions made by different sectors as the percentage of the total GDP is as follows:
