STRUCTURE OF THE ECONOMY
Among the various sectors of the economy, agriculture plays an important role. As to the statistics, the percentage share of the agriculture in the total GDP of the country is more than 50%.
Major agricultural products of the country are rice, sugarcane, oilseed and pulses. Important industries of the country are iron, copper, tea, textiles, and fertilizer industry.
The private sector of the country's economy plays an important role in the economic development.

FOREIGN TRADE
Myanmar exports rice, fish, beans, and pulses to the countries such as China, India, Singapore and Thailand.
Major importable commodities of the country are machines, food products, and construction equipments. For its imports it depends upon the countries such as China, Malaysia and Thailand.
CONCLUSION
Myanmar is a member country of the World Bank. The bank from time to time has undertaken various steps for fostering economic growth and reducing poverty for the country.
