Switzerland comes under the high-income OECD group countries as to the classification made by the World Bank on the basis of income and region for the year 2006.

Economy of the country is well developed as well as more stable. Both services as well as industrial sector are equally important for the economy. Tourism industry is a major contributor to the Swiss Economy. International participation of the country is mark worthy. Major agricultural products in the country are citrus fruits, cotton, rice and maize. Important industries are meat processing, chemicals, machines, and watches.
