Namibia is a Lower middle-income economies coming under the Sub Saharan African region as to the classification made by the World Bank on the basis of income and region for the year 2006.

The economy of Namibia is largely dependent upon the minerals as the major source of earning. The Namibian Government has adopted the free market economic policies in the recent years. Services sector constitute the larger share in the total GDP followed by the industries.

Major agricultural products in the country are sorghum, peanuts, goat, and ostrich. Important industries are textiles, leather, and canning. Diamond, copper, lead and manganese are the best economic assets in the country.
