Bolivia is a Lower Middle Income economies coming under the Latin America and Caribbean Region as to the classification made by the World Bank on the basis of Income and region for the year 2006.

The Bolivia's economy is largely affected by the high level corruption. The Government of Bolivia has implemented the structural reforms polices in the year 1985 for fostering economic growth and maintaining stability.

The natural resources of the country largely contribute to the country's economy. Major agricultural products in the country are rice, coffee, cotton, sugarcane and timber. Important industries of the country are petroleum, food processing, tobacco, handicrafts, and clothing.
