Illinois Tax

In recent times governor Pat Quinn has made clear his intentions regarding usage of money generated from Illinois tax. He has talked about various avenues where these IL tax funds would be used such as education, jobs, healthcare and overall economic affluence.

Pat Quinn has made it clear that rates of Ill tax need to be progressive so that state is in a position to deliver services as and when they are required by families residing in Illinois. Financial experts have also supported Quinn’s pleas to increase rates of tax of Illinois as they believe progressive tax in Illinois could help solve various problems persisting within state economy.

Illinois economy is suffering from substantial deficit in its budget. One cure of this disease could be advanced structure of tax at Illinois. If Illinois tax is amended then effects of ongoing global recession could be allayed to a significant extent. Amount of tax load imposed on tax payers in this state could be brought down too.

Rates of Illinois tax are lower than most other states in United States of America. However, there are some disparities in rates that are imposed on incomes of low and middle income group in this state as compared to financially well off families. However, this statement could only be made on account of share that income taxes account for in terms of aggregate income across various financial groups.

Pat Quinn wants this imbalance in Illinois tax to be addressed by putting an increased tax burden on richer families and thus taking it away from middle and low income groups. This decision has come in for praise from all quarters of financial circle of state.

Amount of personal exemption provided to Illinois tax payers has been increased to three times. However, financial experts have termed this to be a rather expensive way to provide tax relief to taxpayers. They have opined that there were other better alternatives such as refundable credits. This personal tax exemption benefit is only applicable as far as income taxes are concerned and anyways they are not a big headache for taxpayers from low and middle income group
