Arizona Tax

Latest news from Arizona has confirmed that a number of business enterprises over there have joined forces in order to voice their opinion regarding permanent cancellation of an AZ tax related to property.

As per information on Ariz tax this equalization tax has been a contentious issue for tax payers as well as authorities. It has been two years that this tax of Arizona has been suspended. Suspension of this tax of Arizona has caused state government revenue losses to tune of $250 million on a per year basis.

This equalization tax at Arizona is being touted to make a return in 2010. However various business groups have decided to not let that happen and as such have sent a letter to law makers of Arizona tax against reinforcement of property taxes as that would hamper business organizations as well as families in these times of economic hardships.

This letter by these business entities to Arizona tax authorities states that this tax would greatly impede economic growth prospects of this state. Market for jobs would be affected in that state as well if this equalization tax is revived.

Arizona has been hurt badly by ongoing global recession and is looking for any means to survive and get back on its feet. If an Arizona tax is imposed now it would greatly set back chances of revival of Arizonian economy from throes of recession.

However, there are divisions between business cycle in Arizona itself as far as its reaction towards this Arizona tax is concerned. Southern Arizona Leadership Council has reiterated that they would like this tax to be not repealed as condition of economy of this state is not exactly ideal and money generated from this tax could be useful.

Members of Republican Party in House and Senate have said that this Arizona tax should be done away with on a priority basis. However governor of Arizona Jan Brewer who is a member of Republican Party as well is yet to come up with her opinion. Some organizations that are against reinforcement of this Arizona tax and have signed in that particular letter are Arizona Tax Research Association, Arizona Manufacturers Council, Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Business, Arizona Free Enterprise Club and East Valley and West Valley chambers of commerce.
