Installed capacity (2000-01) was 34.35 MV, out of which 12.45 mkwh was generated.

No. of primary school according to latest figure available is 1280, middle school no. is 770 and high school no is 377.



Total road length is 4064.37 kms, surfaced roads 2220.30 kms and national highway length is 270 kms.
No of hospitals is 7, while there are 9 community health centres and 45 primary health centres.
In tne communication sector, mizoram has 68 rural post offices and 329 urban post offices. No of telephone connection was 37718 according to reccent figures available from the state.
Around 369 villages/ habitants are fully covered under drinking water supply and 544 are partially covered.
