Most of these airports have regular connections through the Indian Airlines and other domestic airlines. Mumbai is the most connected international airport in India and most of the important international destinations are connected with this place.
Maharashtra has domestic airports at Mumbai, Pune, Auranagabad, Nashik, Nagpur, Kolhapur and Hadaspar respectively and one International airport at Mumbai.

Mumbai is the hub of the railway network in Maharashtra having three major railway stations and the headquarters of two Railway Zones in India. Most of the important places in India are connected by rail to Mumbai. Many important tourist spots in the state are directly connected to Mumbai by regular trains.

Ports
The state of Maharashtra is the Primary Hinterland for Mumbai Port. Nearly 44 % of its traffic originates within the state. Mumbai city itself accounts for nearly 28 % of the total traffic of Mumbai Port.
Port of Mumbai is situated almost midway along the west coast of india and is gifted with a natural harbour providing ample shelter for shipping throughout the year. There are three enclosed wet docks namely Indira, Prince's and Victoria Docks. For handling Crude and Petroleum products, there are four jetties at Jawahar Dweep an Island in the Mumbai harbour. Chemicals and Products are also handled at Pir Pau. The port, during its long chequered history of over 130 years, has been called upon to handle all types of cargo-handling upto approximately one sixth of the total sea-borne trade of the country.
The entire Port areas is served by an extensive network of roads of over 126 kilometers.
The Port of Mumbai owns and operates its own Railway which is connected to the broad guage main lines of the Central and Western Railway at its Interchange Railway Yard at Wadala. The Railway runs about 11 kilometers of straight route between Ballard Pier and Wadala and has an extensive network of track of about 130 kilometers. It serves the Docks as well as the important installations and factories on the Port Trust estates. It has its own fleet of 9 diesel locomotives. The Railway handled around 1.58 million tonnes of traffic during 1997-98
For handling ICD traffic a full fledged RCD has been set up at Cotton Depot with facilities for reception, stacking etc. of containers. It can handle two trains of 45 wagons with double despatch facilities.
Power
During 1999-2000, upto February, 2000, the generation of electricity in the State was 57,427 million KWH which was 9.2 per cent higher than that in the corresponding period of 1998-99. During the current year 1999-2000, on 15th February, 2000 the peak demand of 11,367 MW was met with 1,082 MW load shedding. The total generation of electricity in the State during 1998-99 was 57,973 million KWH and was higher by 4.7 per cent than that in the previous year. The overall electricity consumption in 1998-99 was 51,695 million KWH and was higher by 4.1 per cent than that in the previous year. As on 31st March, 1999, the number of agricultural pumpsets energised stood at 22.10 lakh.
Telecom
Maharashtra Telecom Circle (MTC) under the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (A Govt.Of India Enterprise) is serving the entire state of Maharashtra (except Mumbai-MTNL) and Goa. This circle is headed by Shri R.N.Bharadwaj, Chief General Manager. He leads a strong & unified team of PGMs , GMs, TDMs and 28,000 highly skilled technical & non-technical workforce.
MTC serves a vast terrain of 310762 Sq. Kms. covering lot of coastal & hilly area. Basic as well as value added telecom services such as Internet, ISDN and Intelligent Network are provided to the population of 2.8 crores in Urban Area and 4.22 crores in Rural Area. Vital attention is given for the development of Village Public Telephone System network throughout the Circle.
