India has the second largest population in the world, second only to China, and is the seventh largest country by land area.

It is home to the ancient Indus Valley civilization, birthplace to 4 of the worlds major religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism), and has been home to great empires and trading routes, and today both some of the world's richest people and untold millions of the poorest.

It is the world's largest democracy, and is home to the second largest workforce (estimated at 467 million people). A stunning 1,652 different language have been recognised by the state census.
