Diners Card: History
The Diners Card was introduced in New York over 50 years ago. Shortly after its inception, Diners Card became the first card to provide services to the business traveler and it became the first charge card to be accepted by airlines in 1955.

Diners Club in association with various airline companies has developed three co-branded cards to offer unique benefits to Diners Card holders. These include:
The SAA Voyager co-branded Diners Club Card: This card offers greater spending power within and outside the country. The miles earned by flying South African Airways, can be exchanged for various rewards.
The Star Alliance co-branded Diners Club Card: This card offers fast and convenient flights, with over 16,930 daily flights to 153 countries.
The British Airways co-branded Diners Club Card: This card offers rewards in terms of miles every time the card is used.

Diners Card holds the distinction of being the world's first multi-use charge card. It offers a wide range of benefits, including:
- Concierge Service for arrangements while traveling such as booking flights, restaurant reservations, golf arrangements and organizing conferences.
- Complimentary access to domestic and international airport lounges.
- Complimentary Global Calling Card, which facilitates making calls from foreign countries at subsidized rates and charge them to the Diners Card. This card is valid in 120 countries and helps to save up to 50% on international cellular roaming charges.
- Complimentary travel insurance and optional top-up insurance.
- Automatic insurance against fraudulent use of lost or stolen cards. This protection can be availed to cover the card transactions that occur after the card is lost or stolen as well as those transactions that occur during the 48 hours before receiving the written notice for the loss.
