Huntsville Real Estate

The present situation of Huntsville Real Estate:
The Huntsville real estate market has shown excellent performance throughout 2005-06. on an average 854 houses were sold per month between January and May 2006. This implies a rise of 162 houses sold per month as compared to the same period for 2005. There was more good news as the average selling price and median selling price rose by $10,091 and $12,454 respectively in the first 5 months of 2006. The Huntsville metro area saw a hike in demand as there were 503 more homes for sale and on an average a home was on the market for 6 less days as compared to 2005. This surge was fueled by the expanding job market as there was a creation of 5,400 more jobs.

Huntsville Real Estate was in news recently because:
  • City planners are looking forward to a rezoning request and have chalked out a project for the construction of about 700 homes in the 189 acre site that lies to the west of the Memorial Parkway. This project would prove beneficial to people who want easy access to Memorial Parkway. Those who wish to take up a direct route from their house to Research Park and Redstone Arsenal can also explore this option.

  • The Huntsville real estate boom was conspicuous in the region near Madison and east Limestone County. A 1,261-lot subdivision for 427 single family houses between the Wall-Triana Highway and Zierdt Road is under the consideration of the Huntsville City Planning Commission.

  • Homebuilders were asking for permission to build bigger houses in some zoning categories of Huntsville. But the Huntsville City Planing Commission sorted out drainage and population density as the main concerns in taking this move. The larger patio homes can in fact serve an aging population.
