The insurance products offered by HBOS include:

Building Insurance: Besides unlimited liability cover and damage cover for fire, flood and storm, the policy also ensures:

  • Guaranteed repair work for 12 months, provided it is carried out by recommended and approved builders and contractors.

  • Cover for accidental damage of underground services, such as pipes and wiring.

Moreover, HBOS insurance can be acquired for building contents, such as satellite equipment and electronic equipments such as TV, games consoles and personal computer. Digital content, such as downloaded audio and videos, also come under the purview of content insurance.

Car Insurance: The special features of this policy are:

  • Legal cover for injury and death of up to £20 million.

  • Cover for loss or damage of permanently fitted in-car entertainment, such as television, phone, DVD, games console and electronic navigation equipment.

  • Guaranteed repair work for 5 years, provided it is carried out by one of the recommended repairers.

  • A complementary courtesy car during the repair period.

  • Complete fire and theft cover.

Travel Insurance: HBOS provides insurance cover for single as well as multiple trips, which can be personalized further by adding golf and winter sports equipment cover.

Pet Insurance: HBOS provides special cover for pets, restricted to dogs and cats. Some features of this insurance option are:

  • Cover for veterinarians' fees.

  • Up to £500 for advertising and rewards in case of a lost pet.

  • Up to £500 for kennel fees, if the pet is hospitalized for over 48 hours.

  • Cover for £500 or the purchase price of the pet (cats only), whichever is less, if it dies or is put to sleep before the age of 11.

Landlord Insurance: HBOS landlord insurance covers both furnished and unfurnished property. It also encompasses cover against non-payment of rent. Other features of this option are:

  • Up to £1,000 cover for locks and keys.

  • Liability guarantee up to £20,000 as proxy for rent when the property becomes uninhabitable or damaged following a claim, till the situation has been rectified.

  • Public liability cover.

HBOS insurance, in addition, includes the ‘Total Mortgage Protection Plan,’ which provides mortgage repayment cover in case of death, accident, sickness and unemployment of the claimant. The option also includes cover for household bills.
