When you buy a Finsure household insurance policy, you insure the structure of your home at a sum not exceeding the value of the property. This insurance policy covers properties built of:

Concrete

The distinctive features of a Finsure household insurance policy are:

You can cancel this insurance within 14 days from the start of the contract without specifying a reason. You can also cancel the policy any time. Premium may be returned to you depending on the period for which the policy has been active and whether you have made a claim.

Underwriters can cancel the insurance by giving you a notice of 15 days in writing.

Your insurance will be effective for 12 months from the start date.

You must inform the insurer if you are leaving your holiday home unoccupied for more than 40 days.

You will bear the first €250 of the repair costs.

While the excess for claims for damage resulting from subsidence, landslip or heave of the site is €1,250, that for other damages is €130.
You would receive the following covers under the Building section:

Repair of accidental damage to domestic oil, gas and water supply pipes, septic tanks, underground cables, sewers and drains.

Frost damage to fixed water tanks, apparatus and pipes.

Damage caused by falling aerials and satellite dishes.

Loss of rent and temporary accommodation costs if the home is rendered uninhabitable.

Architects and surveyors fees, debris removal and additional costs arising from the government or local authority requirements.
The company provides for the following in the contents cover:

Accidental damage to television, audio and computer equipment in your home.

Fatal injury caused by fire or burglary to you and your family members.
