In 1904, the Eagle Star Insurance Company Ltd. was established in 1904 as the British Dominions Marine Insurance Company. It started out by offering fire and accident policies. Later, it expanded by providing life assurance and other general insurance services. In 1937, the company was renamed Eagle Star and based in Fareham, UK, it is presently managed as a subsidiary of the Zurich Financial Services.

Home Insurance

·        Cover for fire brigade expenses up to €1,500.

·        Up to €400 for door lock replacement.

·        Cover for loss/damage of portable contents, such as DVD player, digital camera and camcorder which are outside the home, to a maximum of €1,275.

Car Insurance

Besides the fire and theft cover, Eaglestar car insurance offers road-accident cover to a maximum value of €2,600. Other features of the policy are:

·        No claim discount up to 55% on the insurance premiums.

·        Replacement car in case the car is stolen and not recovered within 12 months of registration.

·        Foreign travel cover, within the European Union, for a maximum period of 60 days.

·        Cover for superior personal effects, such as handbag, childcare accessories and sports equipment, up to €400.

The Eaglestar car insurance also comes with 24 hour breakdown assistance, which includes puncture and refueling facility, in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.

Travel Insurance

The Travelstar policy provides a comprehensive travel coverage, which encompasses compensation for different unpleasant events (subject to a maximum limit), such as:

·        Emergency medical expenses: €2,500,000

·        Cancellation or delay of journey: €4,000

·        Loss of personal baggage: €2,500

·        Missed departure: €400

·        Loss of passport: €400
