Egyptian insurance market has achieved a remarkable progress not only in terms of growth
rate of total assets, shareholder’s equity, investments and premiums but also in enhancing the role of the insurance authority by developing the insurance control and legislation. In the
year 2003-04 the BUPA Egypt insurance company has entered. Hence the total
numbers of licensed insurance and reinsurance companies have increased to 21.
