The Hannover Messe 2006 ended with India making an impressive mark being the Partner Country. India had got a chance to show its strength not only in the services sector (information technology) but also its capabilities and skills in manufacturing and industrial processes.
It is seen that the total business generated at the Hannover Messe 2006 was USD 1.3 billion. That includes Kingfisher Airlines USD 1 billion contracts with Airbus Industries, MoUs between Deutsche Bahn & Indian Railways and Force Motors & MAN Nutzfahrzeuge. The bilateral Indo-German Energy Forum to focus on clean coal technology, energy efficiency and conservation.
Fro an estimation it is seen that over 35000 visitors came to the India Pavilion.
According to Mr. Ajay Khanna, CEO, India Brand Equity Foundation, " India's presence as the Partner country at The Hannover Messe 2006 after a gap of 22 years has been highly successful".
A high profile delegation from a cross section of Government and India Inc led by Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Mr. Kamal Nath, Minister of Commerce and Industry redefined Indo-German relations.
