The results was 11 percentage points lower than the last time Gallup measured it in mid-May and well below Obama’s previous low of 35 percent in November 2010.
In addition, only 24 percent of Gallup’s respondents responded positively to President’s Obama management of the federal budget deficit, while 65 percent of Americans felt that the President was not doing enough for job creation.
President Obama also fared badly among Republicans and Independents. Only 23 percent of Independents approved of his work with the economy, compared to 5 percent of Republicans and 53 percent of Democrats.

The President did receive better grades on foreign policy issues though - with 53 percent of all respondents expressing their approval for his handling of terrorism, 42 percent for his handling of foreign affairs in general, and 38 percent for his handling of the war in Afghanistan.
However, the President's overall job approval rating did not look promising. According to Gallup, it stood at 41 percent – 9 percentage points below the 50 percent bar thought to signal relative safety for incumbent politicians.
