Tunisia has a diverse economy, with important agricultural, agrarian, fisheries and farming, mining, tourism and transportation, and industrial manufacturing sectors. Progressive social policies also have aided raise living conditions in Tunisia relative to the region. However, development of non-textile industrial manufacturing, a recovery in agricultural, agrarian, fisheries and farming production, and robust growth in the services sector somewhat mitigated the economic effect of decreased exports.
