The cash debit card is among the highest sought after cards available. But like with credit cards, consumers want to get something out of using the card. Financial institutions are starting to recognize this and have begun offering debit cards with reward programs. They are also an excellent substitute for consumers that cannot get a rewards credit card. Since this concept is still new most people have no idea how to go about obtaining one of these rewards debit cards.

You need to begin this process by locating a bank that offers a rewards cash debit card. Not many do since right now but they are available if you look around enough. Often this is an incentive to attract new customers but it is always worth asking your current bank if this is something they currently have.

If they do not, their customer’s interest may just sway them later down the road. Once you locate a bank that offers these debit cards, you will need to open a checking account with them to get the card. You can also call around to companies that offer secured credit cards since they often work just like a debit card and some of them do offer rewards programs. Once you have an account open with an institution that offers these reward debit cards then you simply need to request and apply for the card.

Another kind of rewards cash debit card is offered online by opening up an account with Paypal. This is an online system that allows you to send and receive money through them and to your personal bank account. You do not have to provide them money to open an account but you will need to verify your bank and personal information.

After you have verified all of your information then you can request an upgrade to a business of Premier account. This is when you can apply for the rewards debit card. Then you can use your debit card like any other debit card and Paypal will take the funds from your bank account as needed and you can earn up to 1% back on all your purchase.

These cards can be helpful, but you should always look for hidden fees or penalties associated with them. If you fail to check these things you can end up spending more money than you earn through these rewards.
