Pay Credit Card Payment: Ways

The various ways through which you can make credit card payments are:

Mail: The holders of credit cards can pay their card bills by sending checks and other necessary papers through post to the bank that has the credit card account. Ideally this method of paying should be used if there are several days to the payment due date.

Phone: Credit cardholders can also make payments over the phone. To make the payment, cardholders need to have their credit card account number and payment details, including their bank account number from which they want to pay the bill. Usually, the entire process is automated and you can complete the payment procedure by following the instructions given by the automated telephone menu. However, you must seek help from a customer service executive if there is a problem. Also, take note of the payment verification number in case there is a question about the payment. Usually, credit card payments made over the telephone are posted within a few hours of completion.

Online: Credit cardholders can also make their payments online by transferring their money from a particular account to the bank’s credit card account. Through this method, the transfer is registered instantly, making it the fastest payment method. There are two ways to transfer the money online from one account to the credit card account:

  • Debit card: You can setup the Direct Debit method. In this method, the credit card company automatically debits the bill amount on a specific date every month. This method ensures that your credit card payments are made on schedule and you are free from late fee troubles. However, you need to ensure that there are enough funds in your debit card account to cover your dues.

  • Saving Account: Some banks offer the facility of scheduling your payments such that the credit card bill is paid automatically every month. With other banks, you can pay manually before the due date from the comfort of your home or office.
