ATM compatible cards are also known as debit cards. They offer several benefits, such as:

  • Facilitation of banking transactions from anywhere and at almost anytime.
  • By using ATM cards, customers can easily withdraw cash from their savings or checking accounts.
  • Some ATMs also provides the facility of making deposits or transferring money.
  • One can take out cash against the available balance on the MasterCard prepaid or gift cards as well. However, this feature is not applicable to all gift card issuers.

ATM MasterCard: Restrictions

While making money transactions, customers must be aware that such transactions come at a price. Most banks charge transaction fees that can range from anywhere between 50¢ and $3 per transaction. These rates are only applicable when a withdrawer is using an ATM that does not belong to his/her host bank.

How to Locate an ATM

Finding an ATM can be fairly simple. One can use the MasterCard Global ATM Locator to find the nearest ATM. To begin the search:

  • Type in the name of the city or state
  • One can also give a zip code
  • The search is further narrowed down by giving the street address and name of the card-issuing financial institution
  • The search can also be based on additional search criteria, such as handicap and 24-hour access
  • After giving the required information, click the search button
  • After this, the website will give a detailed list of ATMs that meet the search criteria
  • Out of the given list, click on the specific ATM to know its exact location
