American Mastercard

MasterCard offers a variety of American MasterCard credit cards that come with a range of rewards in travel, entertainment, gas purchases and shopping. Located in New York, USA, MasterCard Worldwide is a major multinational corporation founded in 1966. It was started by United California Bank, Wells Fargo, the Bank of California and Crocker National Bank, with the purpose of competing with the Bank of America’s BankAmericard (now known as the VISA credit card). Since 2006, MasterCard has been a publicly traded company. More than 25,000 financial institutions owned the corporation before it went public.

American MasterCard Credit Cards

One can choose from a range of American MasterCard credit cards, based on the following:

  • Introductory Annual Percentage Rate (APR) – Some cards, such as the Bank of America® WorldPoints® Platinum Plus® MasterCard®, CitiBusiness® Card and Advanta Platinum BusinessCard with Rewards offer 0% introductory APR. However, the period of the offer may differ from six to fifteen months.

    • Points – For every $1 spent, some cards, such as the Union Plus® MasterCard and Bank of America® WorldPoints® Platinum Plus® MasterCard® award one point, while some cards (such as Toys R Us® MasterCard) offer as much as four points.

    • Need – If you run a business, you could opt for cards such as the CitiBusiness® Card, while if you have kids, you may opt for Toys R Us® MasterCard.

    American MasterCard Gift Cards

    A variety of gift cards are on available, offering a range of diverse benefits, such as:

    • Credit limit – While some cards, such as the Webcertificate™ card, have a limit of $200, the credit limit could be as high as $2,500 for others, such as the DiamondCard Prepaid MasterCard Card and BuyRIGHT Prepaid MasterCard Card.

    • Reloading – If you are using credit cards such as the i-GEN® Prepaid MasterCard® Card and Webcertificate™, you have the choice of reloading them.

    • Monthly fee – Some cards, such as the Harris MasterCard Gift Card and Key Possibilities Prepaid Gift Card, do not levy any monthly fee.

    American MasterCard Debit Cards

    The choice of American MasterCard debit card depends upon the bank account type, such as a credit union, savings, commercial or investment account. One can opt for the Debit MasterCard BusinessCard, which offers purchasing convenience, safety and easy record keeping. The Bank Freedom Prepaid MasterCard, which is FDIC insured, is accepted at all locations that accept the debit MasterCard.

    American MasterCard Student Cards

    One can choose gift cards based on the following:

    • Intro Rate: Chase +1(SM) Student MasterCard® and Citi® Platinum Select® for College Students offer 0% APR during the introductory period, which can range from three to six months.

    • Annual Fee: This fee is not applicable if you get cards such as the Citi® Dividend Platinum Select MasterCard® for College Student and Chase +1(SM) Student MasterCard®.

    Secured Cards

    One can also get secured American MasterCard cards on the basis of a low introductory rate, low ongoing rate and rewards.
