The Citi Platinum Card is offered to individuals with good credit ratings. Citibank offers the platinum card in association with MasterCard and American Express.

Citi Platinum Card MasterCard

Citibank offers the Citi Platinum Select MasterCard in association with the leading credit card service provider, MasterCard. The exclusive features of this Citi Platinum Card include:

  • Zero percent APR: The Citi Platinum Card offers zero percent APR on balance transfers and purchases for a maximum of 12 months from the date of account opening. The duration for the zero percent APR period is decided by the credit history of the cardholder.

  • Extra Cash: This facility provides discounts on movie tickets, travel and merchandise shopping.

  • Zero liability: With MasterCard's zero liability program, a Citi Platinum Card user is not liable to pay for unauthorized deductions from the credit card.

    • Extended warranty: An individual can take advantage of extended warranty on every item purchased using the Citibank Platinum credit card.

    • Travel assistance: Free of charge emergency travel assistance is provided to Citi Platinum Card users. It also includes legal counseling in case of unforeseen circumstances.

    • Travel accident insurance: All Citi Platinum Card users are automatically provided travel accident insurance. Coverage details are provided at the time of account opening.

    Apart from the standard platinum card, Citibank also offers two more variants for the special needs of cardholders. With Citi Driver’s Edge Options Platinum Select MasterCard, an individual can earn one dollar for every 100 miles of driving. One can earn up to a maximum of $1,000 in a year. The Citi Platinum Select / AAdvantage World MasterCard lets an individual earn travel rewards with the American Airlines AAdavantage program.

    Citi Platinum Card American Express

    With a Citi Platinum American Express Card, one can earn rewards on every purchase. The exclusive features of this card include:

    • Airport lounge access: Citi Platinum American Express Card users can access the VIP lounge at major international airports irrespective of the airline in which they are booked.

    • Concierge service: The Citi Platinum credit card user is eligible for personal assistance service at any foreign location worldwide.

    • Spending limit: This card offers no preset spending limit. The bank estimates the spending limit based on the individual use of card and regular payments along with the credit history.

    In order to apply for Citibank credit cards, one can contact the nearest Citibank branch or fill an application form online. An individual will need to provide identity and address proof to the bank along with details of financial history.
