Japan Budget 2006

Budget system of Japan
Japan has 32 special account budgets and a general account budget. The general account budget has details of the various expenses as well as profits of the national government. It mostly highlights expenses made for the public. The special account budget furnishes details of expenses as well as revenue earnings pertaining to some special tasks or programs. Japan also has few agencies, which are endorsed by the Japan government to carry out tasks related to Japan budget.
Various Aspects of Japan Budget 2006
Diet, the parliament of Japan, is responsible for giving consent to the budget. For Japan Budget 2006, 79.69 trillion yen or USD$681.11 billion was allotted. The House of Representatives passed Japan budget 2006 in the month of March. General account budget initially was less than 80 trillion yen (approximately USD$683.76 billion) in the year 2006. In the last eight years, this was the first time such a thing happened. Owing to spending cuts in a number of policies coupled with presumed tax revenue growth in the financial year 2006, the Japan budget was smaller by 3% in comparison to that of 2005.

It was observed in 2006, that the government issued less number of government bonds. It dropped by 30 trillion yen or approximately, USD$256.41. The issuance of government bonds in 2006 was the lowest in comparison to the preceding five years.

General expenses, which includes many expenses other than compulsory prices(debt servicing) was reckoned to be 46.37 trillion yen or USD$398 billion.

The outstanding debt of the state as well as the central government were reckoned to be 150% of the gross domestic product or the GDP. This information was retrieved as per the draft budget of 2006.

Japan budget 2006 helped the government realize the various loopholes in the financial set up. The government in Japan put in all efforts to repair expenses as well as their revenue earnings.
