Views On Railway Budget





Indian Railway Budget 2007-08 has come today with many new initiatives by the Railway Minister. In his declaration the Railway Minister added that this is a budget, which emphasizes more on the poorer sections of the peoples.

Finance Minister: The Finance Minister of India P Chidambaram in his view has defined that the budget is growth friendly. In his view he has added that consumers are the ultimate gainers in this year’s Railway Budget. Reduction of freight charges and other benefits will help the common peoples.

FICCI President: The FICCI President Habil Khorakiwala in his view said that this is good news for India and other sectors such as education and health should follow this.

India Inc: The India Inc has defined Indian Railway Budget for the year 2007-08 as positive and an example for other public sectors in India.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII): The Confederation of Indian Industry has welcomed the Railway Budget for the measures like increased containers and freight services. Assocham: Assocham has welcomed the budget for introducing modern technology, including ATMs, SMS, and e-ticketing.

Chairman and managing director Air Deccan: The chairman and managing director Air Deccan, G R Gopinath said that the budget would not affect the air travel.

Director Kingfisher Airlines: Director Kingfisher Airlines A K Ravi Nedungadi, said that the fare cut policy by the Railway will not negatively affect the air industry.
