Railway is Expected to get more outlays in Coming Budget

In the coming railway budget 2007-08, the Railway Minister is expected to declare more outlays for the sector. The recent proposed development in infrastructure in the sector needs huge funds. The proposed expenditure in the sector is around Rs 32,225 crores.

Recently Railway sector has collected a huge sum from its internal generation in the recent years. In the same direction, it has proposed more collections for the year 2007-08.

This year Railway is expected to concentrate more on modernization and use of more technologies in the sector. Construction of bridges and new railway lines come under the top agenda in the coming railway budget 2007-08.

New lines are expected to be started in the Northeast regions and in Jammu Kashmir. The Railway Ministry is also planning for setting up new rail coach factories in the country. For meeting such expenditures Railway is expected to raise some funds from the market borrowing sources. Major projects in this year cover Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramullah and Kumarghat-Agartala linking.

The public-private partnership is expected to help Railway in the development of infrastructure and modernization process.
