Railway Budget 2007-08 Plans To Come With More than 400 AC Trains and 50 Garib Raths

The Ministry of Railway is planning for an introduction of more than 400 AC Trains as well as 50 Garib Raths in the coming railway budget 2007-08. Presently there are more than 6,000 AC trains and 2 Garib Raths. One Garib Rath covers Amritsar and Saharsa in Bihar on the hand the other between Delhi and Patna.

In the recent times Indian Railways has become able enough by creating a surplus to make further investments. The Ministry is also planning to allow the private players in the manufacturing of Wagons.

Apart from this, the ministry has also started talking with the leading wagon manufacturers in Australia and USA for setting up of the special purpose vehicles (SPV).
