This Year Railway Budget Will Follow PPP Model

The coming Railway Budget 2007-08 is expected to follow Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Implementation of Public Private Partnership model in the coming budget is expected to help in the development of infrastructure and adoption of technology.

In this budget, the Railway Ministry is trying to develop some of the railway stations world class. In this direction the private players will participate in the modernization of new railway stations.

Investment of the Government will experience a faster rise after the participation of the private players. There will an additional investment for the modernization process.

From the Railway Ministry sources, the investment will be met through internal generation of funds, raising funds from the market and some budgetary supports.
