National Savings and Investments bank is among the UK’s biggest savings organizations. Popularly known as NS&I UK, the bank serves 27 million customers through their comprehensive range of savings and investment products. NS&I UK (National Savings and Investments): History

NS&I UK was formed in 1861 by the British governmentas the first postal savings system. It was then recognized as Post Office Savings Bank. The bank was transferred to the Treasury in 1969 with a new name, National Savings. It became National Savings and Investments in 2002.

·        In 1997, the bank was awarded Charter Mark for Excellence in Public Service. NS&I received this award again in 2002.

·        The bank has been accredited with Investor in People (IIP) since 1999.

·        Received single star status in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies survey 2006.

·        NS&I achieved IS0140001 accreditation in 2007, which it retained in January 2009 as well.
