Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an independent sovereign state in the Caribbean. The country has a British Colonial history and is a part of the Commonwealth of Nations. Agriculture is the most important sector of this lower-middle income economy. The services sector is also an important sector of the economy. The tourism sector has a huge potential and therefore the government is eyeing the development of the sector. A high unemployment rate of 22 percent has proved to be a dampener in the economy’s growth.
