Ceska Narodni Banka or the Czech National Bank is the Central Bank of the Czech Republic. The bank is governed by the public law with a mission of maintaining monetary and fiscal stability in the country.

The bank has undertaken many monetary and financial reforms with a view to create an environment of sustainable economic growth in the country by lowing the rate of inflation the country.

The important functions of the bank are as follows:

  • Issuing coins and bank notes
  • Implementation of Monetary Policy
  • Managing the currency system
  • Regulating the banking sector and capital market
  • Supervising the Foreign Exchanges

The bank has seven members on its board consisting of the Governor, two Vice Governors of the bank and four other members from the Czech National Bank's board.
