In return for finding the highest CD money market accounts, you will enjoy a number of benefits.  With this type of savings, you enjoy benefits of a money market account, as well as a certificate of deposit.  Therefore, if you want to get the most out of your invested money, you might consider a savings such as this.  One of the most important steps is to identify and then understand all your options before choosing.

Years ago, people would put their money in a traditional bank savings account and while the interest was not very high, it was better than getting nothing.  However, due to high demand, along with banks and credit unions being in a highly competitive market today, you can now find all types of opportunities.  Regardless, the goal is to find the highest CD money market rates so you can earn far more than you ever would with a traditional savings.

To help you understand all the benefits that go along with finding the highest CD money market rates, we wanted to address individual advantages of savings in the form of a money market account versus a certificate of deposit.

Money Market Savings

The biggest benefit with a traditional money market account is that you can take money out prior to the maturity date without being heavily penalized.  Typically, you would be expected to pay some type of service charge and while the amount would depend on the financial institution, these are usually low.  Additionally, a money market account would have a minimum required deposit, which again would depend on where the account is opened.

Additionally, most money market accounts have a minimum daily balance.  For instance, if the account required you to maintain $1,000 a day but the balance dipped down to $900, then you would have to pay a fee.  Then if you end up taking out money too many times from a savings such as this, you would likely be charged a free.

Now, along with the benefits of the money market account, you want to find the best CD money market rates so you can also enjoy benefits of a certificate of deposit, which include the following.

Certificate of Deposit

As long as you do not need to take money out, then a certificate of deposit would be the better choice over a money market account.  In addition, most certificates of deposit will earn higher interest than you could make on a standard savings or money market account.  Then, considering that CDs are relatively flexible, you can see that investing your money in a CD makes perfect sense.  Some things to consider include:

·    If you were to take money out early, you would be penalized and in some instances, any accrued interest to that point would be forfeited.

·    In some instances, the issuer will provide a premium CD rate if you have a standard checking, savings, or money market account with the same bank.

·    Then, with a CD you can do what is known as a “rollover”.  In this case, once the CD reaches maturity, instead of you withdrawing money, the initial deposit plus accrued interest would automatically roll over into a new CD.

Now, when you look at CD money market rates and all the benefits you would get with a savings account such as this, you cannot go wrong with this type of investment.  However, to find the highest CD money market rates, you need to shop around, preferably starting with the bank where you current do business.
