As per the latest news on alternative energy FloDesign, which is an aerospace company based at Massachusetts, is trying to develop a wind turbine. This turbine is meant to be two times more effective than a conventional rotor blade turbine.
The conventional turbines with rotor blade turbines normally force air in the spaces around them as opposed to forcing it through them. The wind turbine is supposed to function by carrying air in a vortex, which is then supposed to spin the blades for the purpose of creating electricity. FloDesign is expecting to finish a workable prototype by the conclusion of 2009.
Green Vehicles, which is a company based in California has started to sell an electric car that is pretty economical and worth 20,000 dollars. The car has been named Triac. The car has only three wheels and is small in size but high on efficiency. The range of the car would vary between 60 and 100 miles.
It is supposed to travel at speeds of 80 miles per hour on highways. The motor of the car is 20 kilowatts and the batteries are made up of lithium ion. It is assumed that these batteries would take 6 hours to be charged fully.
There is also a capacity boost battery pack that is optional and is optional. This battery pack is capable of adding 20% to the capacity of the car. The car is being sold through dealership in San Jose, California and is available in 8 separate color combinations.
