A brief introduction to Oregon Department Of Agriculture

Oregon department of agriculture recognizes Oregon agriculture as an important constituent of the economy of the state of Oregon.

Oregon department of agriculture also believes that sustaining ability of the citizens of Oregon depends on a large extent on the judicious use of the natural resources of Oregon.

The Oregon department of agriculture is advised by State Board of Agriculture to execute, plan and supervise the various Oregon department of agriculture policies and projects so as to enhance productivity of the agricultural industry in Oregon.

The projects and the programs undertaken by Oregon department of agriculture targets to:

State Board of Agriculture, Oregon has as many as ten members. Oregon soil and water conservation is the tenth member.

There are various programs organized by Oregon department of agriculture.
These programs are aimed at improving agriculture productivity.

Natural Resources Program:
All programs are aimed at conservation, protection, development of natural resources on private as well as public lands in order to enhance agricultural productivity.

Programs also include agricultural programs relating to quality of water, usage of land, conservation of soil and water, conservation of plants, feeding operations of animals etc.

Division of food safety takes care of the distribution of food in order to ensure that the food provided to the consumers is safe.
