UK Agriculture

The UK Agriculture produces only about one percent of the Gross Domestic Product whereas the industrial sector provides about 26.5 percent and the service sector provides more than 72.5 percent of the gross domestic product. It has also been seen that among nearly 30 million work force that is available in United Kingdom, about one percent is related to UK Agriculture and nearly 74 percent people are involved in services whereas nearly 25 percent people are involved in the industrial sector.

The Farmers of the UK Agriculture are supported in a very big way through the CAP or the common agricultural policy and also look to fulfill the demand for things that has got a great demand in various countries and also in the market. It has been though observed that involvement with UK Agriculture is decreasing gradually and this trend has somewhat helped by the government's policy of reducing the surplus from the UK Agricultural products.

The Government is trying to make alternative efforts to provide the people who are leaving UK Agriculture and looking for other jobs. Another thing that has also been observed is that the quantity of the UK Agricultural area is decreasing gradually and some of them are also going to the pastures to help the livestocks.

The CAP or the Common Agricultural Policy is looking to provide help people to increase productivity and looking to fulfill the demand of some particular products and also looking to cut down the price to make it affordable for all. For this the European Union is thinking of allowing minimum cost for the goods used in domestic sphere and also the levies have been also deducted considerably.

UK Agriculture also produces crops like wheat, barley, sugar beets and other things. The UK Agriculture has achieved a self sufficiency level except for things like cheese and sugars.
