Florida Agriculture has a very prominent face in the U.S Agricultural Economy. Florida Agriculture is backed by more 42 thousand Agricultural Farms. Florida is known for producing a wide variety of Food Products. Florida Agriculture can boast of the rankings and ratings that it has got from U.S government.

The milestones in the agricultural journey of the state of Florida are:

  • 1st rank in United States for sales of Tomato, cucumber, Squash and watermelons.
  • 1st rank in United States in value of production of Sugarcane, Oranges and Grapes.
  • 2nd rank in united States in sales of Sweet Corn and Strawberries.

Other than Fruits and Vegetables, Florida Agriculture also produces Field Crops. The main crops that are grown in Florida are Wheat, Soybeans, Corn, cotton and Cottonseed.

Florida Agriculture not only helps the U.S Economy to be self sufficient in Food Grains but also contributes to country's Agricultural Exports. Florida Agriculture holds the 3rd rank in United States in Fruits Export. Other than fruits, Florida Agriculture also exports Vegetables, Seeds,Wheat and Cotton.

Florida Agriculture is also known for Organic Farming, where natural and minimal pesticides and fertilizers are used.

Florida Agriculture is something extremely important for Florida Economy because, it supports the Agricultural and Food Industries of Florida, which generates a lot of employment and therefore a lot of income for the state. The studies has shown that more than 100 industry sectors of Florida are related to Agriculture in some way or other.

Florida Agriculture supports Florida Agricultural Industries and sales of these industries bring money in to the state which generates more and more economic activities resulting in Economic Well Being. In this way Florida Agriculture contributes to economic well being of Florida.
