Agriculture plays a significant role in communist countries. Communist countries like China follows the agrarian collectivization, which is a kind of collective farming influenced by political factors.
Collective farming is a kind of agrarian farming organization, where farm laborers or cultivators are not compensated by way of wages, rather they get a share of firm's net profit. The concept of collectivization was first introduced in Soviet Union. Stalin in the late 1920, utilized this concept of collectivization in 1920 to promote the agricultural productivity in Soviet Union. To implement this idea, land and labor was organized by means of collective farms (kolkhozes) and state farms(sovkhozes). The objective of collectivization was to free poor farmers from economic bondage.
China's way of implementing collectivization
The communist government of China modified the concept of collectivization to a small degree. The collective farming covered all the factors related to health, education, services, industrial production and political matters.
Communistic Agriculture System: Effect
Communistic agriculture system helped to formulate rules that enabled the people of China to meet their basic needs in an egalitarian manner. The basic needs were met in the form of cash wages, free education and health services. Apart from all these basic needs, the government also introduced the idea of bonus with an intention to increase the productivity of land. To increase the supply of food, the government arranged large cooperatives and state farms.
